dumb question about 440MX

Alright...I have a GF4 440MX. It is my understanding that these don't do DX8.1. On the other hand, the driver CD that came with the card has DX8.1 on it. Should I do DX8.1, or stick with just DX8?
 
I think you have DX8.1 support mixed up with Full DX8.1 compatability.

the MX is compatable with 8.1 but won't do pixel shaders and special DX81 calls that the Ti is capable of handling.
