Dumb question: 6800GT 256mb is hands down faster than X800 PRO AGP right?

Been playing Battlefield 2 demo like crazy (at 1600x1200 medium on 9800 pro), it runs decently, I need this game to run silky smooth like Desertcombat did, so I'm looking for a video card thats about $300 but not over $330 with tax/shipping. My current main gaming rig is:

Athlon 64 3000 newcastle @ 2.3GHZ
Chaintech VNF250 nforce 3 250 board
1gb crucial ddr400
sapphire 9800pro
Thermaltake purepower 480W

The only AGP ATI card in my range is a X800 Pro which costs roughly the same as a 6800GT, so should I even consider the ATI card?

Yes 6800GT is faster than x800 pro (12 pipelines I believe). And most 6800GT's overclock to Ultra speeds & beyond easily.

So I guess its gonna be a Geforce 6800GT then, of the three brands, which will run like a rock and OC the best:

XFX
EVGA
Chaintech

All three of those cards come to grand total of <$320 for me.

XFX customer service rating is lagging.

I have an eVGA and love it. Rock stable over clocker. Chaintech I heard nothing bad. It's a coin toss between these two, but I will recommend a eVGA just because I all ready have one.

Who offers the better warranty, chaintech or eVGA? My board is a chaintech and its been running like a rock, so I'm leaning towards the chaintech.

What is the new 6800NU is it a new card?

That's another name for the vanilla 6800 (not GT and not Ultra) IIRC. NU == non ultra.

The 6800GT is the best choice. I have my BFG 6800GT running at 410/1100 and have had it up to 432/1150 stable. The only reason I backed off is due to the higher heat of summer, I don't want to fry it ;)

Also you can find the BFG 6800GT OC (one that retails for like $400 or more) on the AT For Sale/Trade forum for like $280-$290 shipped or on ebay.

BFG, MSI, Leadtek, Asus. those are the only people you should ever buy a card from. XFX sucks. seriously. i emailed them, and a got a crappy generic response 3 weeks later. ive heard eVGA is good, but those 4 are better.

Nah for AGP, 6800GT is a better buy. I have the best of both worlds P4 system AGP - 6800gt, A64 system PCI-express X800XL.

I love my XFX 6800 GT. Ran cool and fairly quiet with stock cooling.
Had no problems with it until my AGP slot decided to fry my VC (damn MSI MB). :(
I sent an RAM request to XFX and got an RMA # back 2 hours later.
I shipped it off and they received it last Monday. I emailed Friday about the status and about 45 minutes later I received a reply that it had been shipped and was given a tracking #. I received it today. :)
I have to give that customer service a 10!!

BTW, why did you not list Leadtek? It's $299 at Newegg.
