dumb harddrive question i am sorry...

i went to disk managment on windows 2k and i deleted a partition (40 gig drive). the computer restarts without it anymore and it doesnt show anything in windows explorer. how can i get it back?

you need to make a new partition, and, most importantly, FORMAT it

how can i make a new partition? and should i format it thru diskmanagement? thanks

well, you should be able to re-partition and re-format right in disk administrator.

you should see at least 40 gigs show up as "unpartitioned space" right?

no nothing at all. its like gone. i tried fdisk and stuff but i cant seem to get it to show up anywhere

does the hard drive show up in the bios as a physical drive?

does it show up in device manager?

if not, you've gotten open up the case and check the cables.
