Dumb ebay policy

I've been selling on eBay for 5 years & have a perfect feedback rating. Some eBay noob uses Buy It Now on one of my auctions and then e-mails me and tells me he made a mistake. Apparently he was trying to figure out how everything works but wasn't smart enough to click the Help icon. So I'm about to do the non-paying bidder process and I read how they only credit back the final value fee (here, $4.48) but not the insertion fee ($2.65). I've done the NPB thing a few times before so I look back on my old invoices and sure enough, I was never credited for the insertion fee for the deadbeat auctions. :| It makes zero sense to me why they do this.

I tried contacting eBay and all they sent me was an automated response. :thumbsdown:

well they dont refund you the insertion fee because they allow you to relist the auction at no charge...its just like as if nobody won your auction...doesn't seem dumb to me...

It's my third time listing the item (didn't sell the first time), and the guy bought it the 2nd time. After the 2nd time I'm SOL

Why do you have an insertion fee of $2.65 on a $4.48 item ?

Should have been like $0.30 ... $0.60 at the most with gallery

The item wasn't $4.48, the final value fee was $4.48. I don't know much about eBay's fee structure, but I imagine the item was several hundred dollars.

4.48 is FVF the actual cost of item is about 100 dollars, maybe close to that. 5 percent.. so many suckers on ebay, me wonder how someone can make so much good money on it, sleep on it nad not have towork ever agan!D😀 :thumbsup:

You get your insertion fee back when you relist them and it sells. Set it for immediate payment required so noone else does that. That idiot gets an NPB strike and everythings right in the world again.

be carefull if you want to keep your perfect eBay feedback. I have recieved two negatives after filing a NPB form. And eBay will refuse to remove them 🙁

They can be removed if you get squaretrade involved. Go there and find out how - as I have had one mutually withdrawn (the other person initiated it through them so I dont know how to do it I just know you can). I did an NPB and left a negative. It just said "non paying bidder". He/She wrote back saying that I listed the item several times and they were no sucker so they didnt pay. lol. What an ass. I list several similar items (before I qualified for multipile item listings). So I looked that the guys feedback and he called someone else a "crazy non paying bidder - beware!!" So that was my response to his comment - "Crazy NPB beware!!". :laugh: That lameass was stealing my pictures too, thats why I left the negative. He sent an email asking me if I enjoyed my first negative, I said I would leave neg feedback for not paying along with an NPB strike in the listing and to "stop lifting my pics". He apologized and payed square trade to mediate. We both agreed to drop the negative ratings.

100% clear (52) ever since.

I wouldn't trade my negative for $$$ because I lvoe it! give me plenty. me wonder how many negs is it goin gto take to get me arse banned 😀
