Dumb EA and their stupid BF2 patch

downloaded, trying to install.. but oh no, the crap needs 1.6gb of free space on the C: partition... but hell.. the game is installed on D: which has over 3gb of free space, why C:???

and second of all, why does a 171mb patch need 1.6gb?

True, this is idiotic. But, surely you can delete some of that porn you never watch to gather up 1.6GB .

my c drive only had about 1gb free, and its only 10gb total, no need for more for the OS and basic programs, most of it is just leftovers from microsoft patches.. but I freed up 2.5gb by uninstalling illustrator and nasa worldwind

lol , i don't like dice at all. they have release all 3 BF game glitchy , crashy and loaded with bugs. They have failed to release once again a stable game and then patches start rolling out. Its like you are paying full price game for beta testing. After realizing the game, Dice official BF website always has ?Tells us your problem and we will try to fix on the next patch? blah blah?. When UT2004 came out it didn?t it was rock solid stable. BF1942 got stable when 1.3 patch was out and got much better by 1.5 patch. BF2 1.3 patch still has bugs and they need to be fixed and also don?t ever talk about 1.1 patch. It added more bugs than it fixed.

I had the same exact problem. EA is a bunch of fvcking idiots. Obviously they should have their patch check the reg key to find out what drive the program is installed on before checking for space. n00bs.

Use Disk Cleanup (under Accessories --> System Tools) that comes with XP... it's great at finding temp files on C:.

Yes you do, which is silly considering it is an online only game, so you can't really pirate it -_-

Maybe I'm just lame, but the game always seemed to work OK for me (except, of course, the infamous first "patch")...
So far so good w/ 1.03.. especially since now I have 3 unlocks waiting for me instantly because of the re-scaling of ranks!! WOOT!!

I havent tried the 1.03 yet but aside from some realyl laggy servers and the horrendus load times (with 2GB of ram mind you) its auctually really fun, and I enjoy it quite a bit.

When I need a quick fix I load up CS, if I have more time I play BF2, If I have a whole weekend its Civ3 or Fallout 2 (yes I Still play that game, so many options so much fun , when are the Morrowind ppl gonna release the next incarnate? /tear)

This patch has done nothing to fix my issues. :|
