Dukes Of Hazzard Question...

Woops I think I made a mistake:

no challeneger. General lee was a charger. Yes daisy had a jeep that said dixie on it, hoever in the early shows she had a torino just like starsky and hutch but it was white with a black stripe.

General lee was number 01 because there was only one other car that was faster, its number was 00, but what kind of car was it?

That was no Torino. That was a early 70's Plymouth Satilite or Road Runner. All the regular vehicles on the show were Mopars with the exception of Boss's Caddy, Daisy's Jeep, Cooters Towtruck and Uncle Jessie's Ford Pick-up. By the way, Starsky and Hutch drove a Gran Torino. There was a very big difference.

Cheers,
Aquaman

I remembered it being a Challenger, but its been a damn long time since I have seen that show.

EDIT

Google says:

Daisy Duke's Jeep - White CJ-7 Jeep driven by sexy cousin Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach) on the rural action adventure THE DUKES OF HAZZARD/CBS/1979-85. Daisy works as a waitress at the Boar's Nest, wears cut off jeans, boots and always has great big inviting smile. She drives about Hazzard County in a yellow 1972 Plymouth Road Runner with black racing strips, that is, until the it was driven of a cliff by the Duke Boys (the brake line failed and the boys bailed just in time). At the end of this episode (No. 27 "The Runaway") Daisy is presented with her new car: a white AMC Golden Eagle Jeep named "Dixie." It sported a hood with a gold eagle emblem. License plates: DIXIE or FCH-630. Daisy's CB Handles were "Little Bo Peep" or "Country Cousin." The Daisy Duke character and her Jeep were merchandised as models - one created by Mego in 1981 and another 1:25 scale plastic model kit from AMT replicates Daisy Duke's 1980 Jeep CJ-7. There was also an arcade-style racing game called The Dukes of Hazzard: Racing for Home! by Playstation (Waylon Jennings provides the narration) and the sequel The Dukes of Hazzard II: Daisy Dukes it Out. The game's missions included avoiding cop cars, speed traps, road obstacles and other hazards and on occasion driving Daisy Duke's Jeep and, of course, the Duke Boy's General Lee automobile. TRIVIA NOTE: The CJ-7 model (Daisy Duke's model) began production in 1976 and ended in 1986. The CJ stands for "Civilian Jeep." See also "The General Lee"

Feel free to bid NOT my auction

I'm stumped ... what was it?

It's definately a 70-72 Plymouth Satilite. My dad owned one exactly like it in all black. I remember the black and silver vinyl seats to this day 😀

He traded it in in 1980 for a brand new Buick Regal, and when he pulled in to exchange keys at the dealship, the radiator exploded LOL! Good car. Had a 383 in it, but there was an optional 440 six pack available.

I had an orange Gran Torino, it was the greatest car ever. Leaded fuel baby!

I had a white Gran Torino Elite for awhile ('75?). It caught fire in the driveway one night. Replaced it with a '69 t-bird/429 Thunderjet engine, Holly 850cfm.
