I can't believe the total lack of commentary in a thread posted by an old school lifer.

I think any money she makes can be given to the victims. However, I can't imagine anyone buying that garbage.

Give it some time, but what more can be said that hasn't already been said?
Things like this, her writing the book, make me think I live in a parallel universe.

If It Really Happened is a book by Crystal Mangum, in which she puts forth a purportedly hypothetical description of her attack and rape, an event she apparently made up, ruining the lives of some Duke students.

Besides the outstanding op commentary, don't tell me she is now trying to put the "I really was the victim" book out.

That title reminds me of OJ's unpublished work "If I Did It."

"It is "the only definitive account of the life and struggles of the woman at the center of the Duke Lacrosse case, the alleged accuser," said Clark in a press release. " Were it not for the Duke Lacrosse Case, she likely would be described as a bright, young woman from Durham, North Carolina, who has had a difficult life."

The alleged accuser? No, I'm pretty sure she was the actual accuser.

Since she is competent enough to get a degree, finish college, and write a book.... how come she got off from all her charges due to mental instability? I didn't think being drunk and high would excuse you from a crime.

Gotta love it. Especially the "were it not for the Duke Lacrosse Case..." bit too. Kind of like saying, "Were it not for the string of random serial killings, Ted Bundy would be described as just a nice, quiet guy."

I think Jesse Jackson said something about giving her a scholarship.

This book should be avoided just like OJ's. The ghost writer is probably Stephen Glass--so that way embellishment isn't a problem.
