I don't get the Duggar hate. Is it because they're Christian? They have a large family of what appear to be healthy, happy, well rounded kids. Why does it matter how many they have?

Maybe they are trying to break the record.

The greatest recorded number of children born to one mother is 69, to the first wife of Feodor Vassilyev (Russia). In 27 pregnancies between 1725 and 1765 she gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets. Only two of the children failed to survive their infancy. The mother also holds the records for giving birth to the most sets of twins and the most sets of quadruplets.

That doesn't make it right to exploit them for money, regardless of when they had them or why.

Your comment was about why they had them:

They are sick people. They are having children for money.

As fucked up as the belief is, I think they honestly believe they shouldn't use birth control as it's against God's will. There's also other families they know that show that it isn't even a belief that is isolated to them. If their goal was fame/money then they've done a pretty shitty job at it.

Whether you believe a reality show is exploitation of children should have nothing to do with how many children they have.

Who said anything about their religion here before you? Trolling much?

Theres no way 2 people can give the proper support, care, and guidance to raise 20 people. Its not possible. And now the only way they're able to financially support them is by exploiting them on national TV. This is almost as bad as octo-mom.

I'm pretty sure theres a limit on the number of C-Sections you can do.. 2 or 3? The scar tissue becomes a major health issue beyond that. Also even just having a pregnancy after a C-Section or 2 can be a risky proposition.

After 35 the risk of having a developmentally challenged child goes up exponentially. We saw that with their last child.. She's 44 now.. Time will tell if this child will be healthy, if it survies.

I don't give a shit if you're Bill Gates and could afford to father 1000 children. It's about social responsibility and not bringing an obscene amount of children into this world. We're already talking about population issues and how limited supplies (food, water, energy) are impacting everyone else, and yet we're supposed to somehow accept that this stupid family has 20 fucking kids?

It's pretty fucking selfish as a parent when also start delegating parenting duties to the older siblings because the dad won't get his balls snipped or the mom won't keep her snatch shut.

I agree with whoever said that they're much better than ghetto babymommas who just leach off the system, but at the same time they're taking serious medical risks when they crank out that many kids. Those costs get paid by their insurance & drive up the price of healthcare for everyone else. Having more kids when you're very likely to have serious complications is a selfish and stupid thing to do.

19 pregnancies, all natural? Either she's incredibly lucky or she's got some damn-near-perfect delivery doctors.

I believe pregnancy after c-section is a huge risk. I doubt she's pumped out that many humans, repeatedly, with surgery. Either that, or her gynecologist needs to be arrested.

Anyway, someone needs to plug up that fucking hole. This family is going to have its own congressman within the next year or two.

Stopped reading after this:

"But the Duggars have always said they leave their family planning up to God, eschewing birth control."

1) It's not just two people raising the kids...They have family and friends that help often...not to mention the older kids.

2) They were doing fine with the first 15 or so kids without being on TV and I'm sure they'll keep on doing fine regardless of the show.

Just saying...

OK, so it looks like you need to wait anywhere between 6 months (crazy town) to 3 years for pregnancy after C-section, depending on the type of incision, as well as individual factors, I assume.

This removes that possibility from momma Dugger, considering number of kids and the fact that she's now spent 65%? of her life pregnant.

lol

Also, the last baby wasn't exactly healthy. It was barely over a pound at birth, and damn near died. The mother also had pre-eclampsia during the pregnancy, which makes her much more likely to have it again.

That must be one hell of a medical plan if they are supposedly self-sustaining. I can't imagine having a baby born 3 months early comes cheap in the post-labor care. I'd guess that you're probably looking at at least 2 months in the neonatal. :\

No. I am not tolerant of the stupid people and their retarded reality TV Show.

They are sick people. They are having children for money. They look OK on TV but they are exploiting the children to make MONEY. IMO.

At least they have morals and aren't some fake TV family like the Kardashian's whom teach society that being shallow and filled with plastic is a good thing.

Dont they say God helps those who help themselves? Maybe they could have given more to each child if they had less?

I'm not suggesting these children are being abused or not brought up right. I'm just saying that the Duggars wont be able to afford to give each child what he/she deserves in terms of access to education. Imagine tertiary education for 20 children!

Uhh... they're loaded. Have you seen their house? These kids aren't being denied much.
