Dues Ex crusting?

"crusts"?

I use a 32 meg GF2 to run it too... if you're referring to the occasional choppiness, then yes, it gets kinda crusty on me too. I drive the game at 1152x864 32bpp anyway. It chops out in any decent resolution at 32 bpp, and looks too ugly in 16bpp.

typo, sorry 🙂

But yeah, even in 16 bit, it does seem choppy at times. Seems to be a well known problem, and this is in D3D.

Ah well.

They did a typical Ion Storm hack job by making the D3D performance SUCK! The beta patch helps things out.

When I tried the demo and it ran about 5 fps on my P3-927/GF2 at 1024, I thought, "Uh-oh".

I only wish I had a Geforce 2 🙂. I just finished beating the game on a C300@450 with a V3 3500. There were times that I just wanted to shoot my computer because of the 16bit max on the V3 and the rates I was getting (it was especially painful in the scenes between levels when Jock would take off and the camera would do a pan of the area you just finished). I guess I should be glad though, at least I had Glide going, so I could run at 1024X768. I couldn't imagine what it would be like on a G400 😛.
