You must be thinking of the old Microprose Duels of the Planeswalkers. Excellent game, and I couldn't get it to work right in XP either.

Unfortunately, the new Duels isn't the same. Look at Modeps review link in the thread. I'm still gonna buy it but I don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as the old one.

Its completely different than the Microprose games.

That stinks. I finally read Modeps' preview, and it still looks like a good game. I currently don't have any friends who play Magic, and I have no desire to go out and spend lots of money on new cards. I do, however, like the game and would enjoy an inexpensive way to get some gameplay.

lol yeah i would do that but have forks recalls, and the one where you get 7 new cards to your hand. i would end up winning the game in a few rolls and doing a shitload of damage.

Yep I had the microprose game as well.. it was pretty fun, I would expect "more" somehow (or at least the same minus the bugs!) from this version. I hope it's good, i'm really looking forward to it now!
