Duel FX-51's?

since the boards that support duel opterons are socket 940s, are fx-51's able to run dueled? if so, are they actually better performanced then single?
 
no the FX's cannot run in DUAL mode. hence the reason why Operton's have single version CPU's, DUAL, and 8-way.

you can run FX-51s in a dual board.

you cannot run 2 FX-51s in a dual board.

They are not SMP capable. Theres an old AT review about it if you poke around.

Has anyone tried running single Opterons in Dual mode? Like taken 2 x 146 Opterons and put them in a Dual Opteron motherboard. Do they work or does it fail?

The early 14X Opterons would. The newer ones will not. Someone on this board just tried with two 144's and it did not work.

Damn. There goes my home workstation budget. They charge so much extra for those 2xx series ones.
