So do you put both discs in, and they have an epic battle with swords and shields? Or does one slap the other with a glove first?

Hello! It's done with blue lasers. And, HD rays.... Yeah.

See, I think HD-DVD has an inherent disadvantage in that regard.

HD-DVD just sounds nerdy. Ooh, it's "DVD" but with more letters.

Blu-Ray sounds like some secret government weapon, able to decimate large areas, that has fallen into enemy hands. And it's up to an ex-Marine (who was dishonorably discharged from service for ignoring orders from base command so that he could save a house full of orphans, kittens, and puppies) to go behind enemy lines and save the USA from this horrible terror. Coming to a theater near you, this July 4th.

WTF?:roll:

I'm not sure if you just found his joke to be lame or if you don't realize that dual is not the same as duel.

Looks like you missed M4H's joke:

duel = one-to-one combat (cue jokes about format wars etc)
dual = twice, double

Nice find, but ppl are expecting dual-format 🙂

Dailytech has this article, yet you posted a G4TV link?

I read about this yesterday at Arstechnica. And they actually include some respectable analysis.

Why these posts don't get deleted is beyond me. We all have our tech news sources. No need to see them reposted WITHOUT COMMENT in the AT forum.

Will it hurt the PS3 - a gaming console? The better question is, what affect will it have on the sale of kumquats in Eastern Europe? Unless you assume that videophiles are looking to the gimped PS3 Blu-Ray player to use on their top-end A/V setups?

Damnit, you guys went and ruined my fun.

For the record, a dual-format HD/BD player would be a great thing to have.

Cheers OP :beer:😀
