I'm trying to get one of these cards. But I want to make sure there is support for a dvi-vga adaptor (2 ramdac's) to use 2 crt monitors. With so many versions out there and the tec dept. of many retailers not knowing what they have, how can I tell if a particular 8500le/9100 supports this.

If the supplier doesn't tell you, there's little chance. Explicitly ask for dual CRT support when ordering it so you can return it if it doesn't have that.

A strong hint for dual CRT support would be an included DVI-VGA adapter. These are completely useless if the card can't do dual CRT ... although there are plenty of dual-CRT capable cards that don't include one.

yeah, you really should ask the retailer before buying,, I have seen some 8500le that can't do dual monitor at all.. only CRT and TV-out.

I have a Radeon 8500le and it does not have a dvi connector. So if you are planning on using a dual monitor set up I wouldn't recommend this card. There is a S video connector that can be used for a television that can be used in conjuction with your monitor.
