You should try to have them work together instead of battling each other. Setting up a dual boot shouldn't be difficult, but Linspire might not be the best choice. :p

Create seperate partitions for both.

Load XP, then load <Linux distro here>.

Use Lilo or grub for the bootloader. Typically newer distros (not 100% on linspire) will detect the windows install as DOS, and add the appropriate entry into the bootloader. I've always found it easier to use the linux bootloaders, grub in particular.

Linspire is ass. It'll just eat the whole drive and not share nice like most linux distro's. Pick a mainstream distro and use it instead. Suse, Mandriva , Debian, Fedora Core

Thanks for the replys. I am a newbee at all of these. I have always used Windows. Will Fedora work/feel the same as Linspire?

What exactly is Linspire giving you that you want to keep?

Fedora is a very nice distro, if you use Synaptic as your package manager, installing programs or updates is very easy.
