So I work at Applebee's full time to pay for school (Wake).

Anyway, my friend had a table tonight of four people. It was one of the girl's 21st birthday, and they decided to drink at Applebee's (why I have no idea).

They showed up around 7 or 8, my friend who origianlly had the table was cut mid-way through the check ($150) and transferred it over to me so he could leave.

They ended up ordering 18 shots of crown royal and a whole bunch of alcoholic drinks and ran up a tab of $261. After that they somehow all dissapeared and Blake (another server working with me) and I went outside to look for them. No luck.

They walked out on a $261 check. :| Luckily I didn't have to pay for it. Since it wasn't my fault at all. Deuchebags. I hope Karma gets 'em back.

Wow, this would never happen at an Asian restaurant 'cause they keep an eye on you every nano second you're in their restaurant.

i am so glad it has never happened to me.

ive made the mistake of handing the wrong check to the wrong table, and then they pay in cash and leave, but never had someone walk out on a check.

Well, now you know.

lol well yeah. makes sense now. :p my friend who originally had the table was expecting a pretty big tip off them too.

at least we all got free desserts :p because they ordered dessert and walked out before they were finished.

ive had this happen twice, one time I stopped the lady and her daughter before they could leave, the second time it was a old man who signed the check. Its a perfect excuse for him, he could act all senile and be like, I thought it was the credit card receipt.

4 girls aged around 21, had 18 shots PLUS lots of alcohol? How big were these girls? How long were they there drinking? They might just be in the bathroom all passed out

4 shots of alcohol, plus like 3 drinks each only = 7 or so shots...

lol, no we check the bathrooms at the end of the night :p

I actually kept the check so I can show Darryl (dude who originally had the table) what they ended up paying ($0 :p).

They got:
1 x 22oz budweiser draft
17 x 2oz. shots of crown royal (shot = 1.5oz)
1 x white russian
1 x 2oz shot of cuervo gold
5 x Margaritas
2 x Sangrias

Lets just say they were all really drunk

Every bar tab I got, they always ask for a credit card.

On that note, where is your Applebees?

these were people who are borderline over the age. Ask your friend when he checked their ids if he remembered any of their names.

Not with drinks. Have you seen what Applebees charges? And 21st birthdays are usually drinking extravaganzas.

I'm betting the OP will keep a closer eye on high-ticket tables from now on.

Well since it was mostly drinks you can probably get the equivalent at a liquor store for $20 ;)
