Just got my 10GB in the mail. Transferred about 1GB worth of songs in what seemed like 2 minutes! Coolest thing is it arranges all your songs by artist, album, most recently played, etc... Damn I should have bought one of these a long time ago. Ferget the DLink64mb flash player, this is the bomb.

BTW, how do you tell what generation they are. I purchased what is supposed to be Gen 2 from Ebay, but I dunno how to tell exactly.

3rd Gen don't have physical buttons; you just touch the surface. 2nd Gen had clickity-buttons.

I got mine for $160. I tried out the Zen and other models, but -imo- nothing comes close to the quality and functionality of the ipods.

I have a 1st gen that needs a battery replacement.

the link says the gen 1 has better anti-skip. true?

Could be, I've never had it skip so I don't know. I try not to bounce my iPod around until it skips, there is a hd in there you know even if the heads are parked most of the time while it reads from the buffer;)
