Yeah...there's nothing better than hearing those magic words from your boss:

"Get me a list of things you needs so I can get you a new workstation." :D

Nice box. :)

I'm thinking about going dual Xeons, I ditched my dual 1800+'s for a single OC'd P4, & it just doesn't have the same responsiveness as my 1800's did.

We use our DVD's for "testing" purposes. Just to make sure the drives are functioning.

2 things:

1st, that marketing campaign, dude you're getting a dell is genius. You have no idea how many times I've heard people say that in the past 2 weeks...probably at least 50.
2nd, I hate dell...well I don't have them, it's just that I ordered a lappy from them a week ago, and it's been in testing phase for 5 days now. Just ship my damn lappy to me, I don't care if it works or not, if it doesn't work I'll return it. I don't care about the dell software, I'm gonna reformat the thing and install xp pro on it anyways. Anyways, when I ordered on the 9th it said estimated date of delivery of 8/24...I was hoping it would be faster than that...but it's not. Someone told me I wouldn't get it till christmas...they were right:(

Yea, same here. I have a P4 1.8A oc'd to 2.5 stable right now but it just doesn't seem right. It just feels like it is slower than my old XP 1800+ processor. Don't know why, it just does.

probably cause it is slower. I had a XP1600+, then P4 1.8a OCed to 2.25 for a while, then went back to an XP1600+, and i never really noticed performance changes.

Something similar at my job (or at least the place where I work) happened. Some guy had $10,000 left in his grant (and with grants, you're REQUIRED to spend the money) so he bought like a quad Xeon server. I think he's playing games on it. What a waste. I'd get a new car "for getting to work on time".
