Work email address... I *don't* give it out, I *don't* have it posted anywhere, I don't have it listed on any professional/social sites, so why the hell am I getting all sorts of unsolicited emails from vendors and resource recruiters like they know me or something? *sigh*

Do I need a fucking SAP resource or cloud hosting solution? FUCK NO! Leave me the hell alone!

I thought everybody needed a cloud hosting solution. It's like, THE, thing, man.

You know that's kinda surprising as well. I get spam emails on my work email as well. It has never been published.

Also intersting is that these are vendor or corprorate type newsletters.

one is media buyer and planner. & award solutions

If everyone you've ever emailed has your address, then doesn't it just take one of them having their computer compromised or address book harvested by a spammer to flood your inbox?

The work email is maybe posted on the publicly accessible website? That's how robots find email addresses.

But humans are worse. My boss actually got an email from a salescritter who made repeated reference to her private life (hobbies, etc.), her partner, her partner's job and professional needs, and how his company could do all sorts of awesome stuff for both of them. She freaked.

I figure he spent at least 45 minutes researching them, but it was all there on the intertubes, somewhere, if you're a Hardy Boys wannabe.

Well that's the thing. It's not normal junk/malware/scam spam - it's all business/professional related stuff. So obviously my name has gotten into some sort of trade circles, which is pretty funny because everyone upstream from me puts in quite a bit of effort to keep me from being "known" both internally and externally - they don't want me poached by other teams or other companies. It's kind of funny really.
