Should have let the boa have it. It's only fair. The damn cats are a menace to nature and wildlife. They decimate whole neighborhoods they are in. Not to mention crapping in everyone elses yard.
FYI the Boa's have become a HUGE problem in FL, challenging the Gator as top predator, people buy 'em to be "cool" them when it gets to big and a threat to the pets and kids they find a swamp and release them. Most of FL is just fine for constrictor snakes, one was found living under a trailer, it was eating neighborhood poodles "like marshmallows",22 ft long 250+lbs.
I knew a guy that had one that took up a whole bedroom. Thing was massive and it was scary as heck just standing in the doorway looking in. I have no idea what would happen if it would have grabbed you. I didn't want to find out.
That's probably how it is with a lot of animals we keep as pets.I don't see the point of a boa as a pet, it doesn't "like" you more or less than any other creature, it only sizes you up as a potential meal..

"Dammit, this big thing is all pink, soft, meaty, and defenseless. If only I was bigger, then I could eat it."
