Rumor is the reason The Sims 2 is delayed is because in its current form, it'd get an M rating.

I believe it too, the last crop of screenshots I saw had a kid watching a woman take a bath through her bathroom window and a group of guys growing "hydroponic plants" in their apartment.

So don't expect stuff like this to be in the game. At least not blatently. It's too bad too, but smart on EA's part, who's core demographic is girls who love the computer dollhouse.

I remember reading about this somewhere, was supposed to take the whole sexuality of it to the next level. Screenshot looks nice. I thought it was an online-only type thing, but I may be confusing it w/ something else. Hope there's a nude patch for that one too.

(1) LOL at the little kid peeking through the window at the lady taking a bath :p

(2) I find it hard to get excited over a bunch of polygons making out

You can't get excited over a bunch of polygons making out but yet can laugh (and possibly excitedly since you typed LOL) at some polygons looking at other polygons taking a polygon bath?

"Sexually" excited. I find it easy to laugh at inanimate objects. But I'm not one that gets "aroused" by something that I know isn't real (i.e. anime pr0n and the like)

You all should take this seriously. SIMS has become the latest playground for pedophiles seaking to prey on kids. Either EA takes this kind of stuff out, or they develop a much better way to keeps kids (< 13 at least) from playing.

Underage kids go into R-movies all the time. Underage kids drink, smoke, and use drugs even though it's all illegal. Now you're suggesting we stop kids from playing a COMPUTER GAME, nonetheless, because they're going to be "preyed on" by pedophiles? Please. Incidentally, I'm slightly confused how playing single player Sims 2 will make a 12-year old susceptible to being molested. SIMS online is a completely different story, but to be quite honest with you it's nothing more than a glorified chatfest. You'd be just as vulnerable anywhere else on the web - AOL, MSN, Yahoo, whatever.

Edit: Game looks hot.

Do you mean the Sims Online? The Sims 2 will not have an online component.

Yes, I meant SIMS online. SIMS 2 will not? I thought the big deal was the online part...

What are the improvements?

Better resolution and more detail...

Haven't they been constantly updating it though with each new pack? It's not like it took them 5 years or whatever to make these technological improvements. So if I buy the latest expansion pack and compare it to Sims 1.0, would there be an improvement?
