Dud Video Card? - Really need help!

I'm am getting really pissed off. I purchased a GF 4Ti 4200 64mb. I get 5160 in 3d mark 2001 at default settings.

I reformatted and installed latest drivers. Same again. Put bios settings back to default. No change.

Besides 3dmark I wanted to be able to play BF1942 at a decent speed. I run 640-480 all settings on low with view distance at 75%. I average around 30 fps...

I do not have anistropic or anti aliasing etc. I turn the settings up to max on BF1942 and again I average around 30 fps... There seems no dif if I turn the settings up to buggary or not.

Getting extremely stressed as I am assuming I've somehow got a dud video card that isn't working properly. I'm also extremely pissed as I cant play BF1942 (The primary reason I bought this new card) at anything like smooth gameplay.

512Mb SD 133 RAM
Seagate 40GB 7,200 RPM HD
Geforce4TI 4200 64MB at default settings.
Tried latest detonators and drivers that came with card.

Extremely frustrated...
 
That system should eat up BF1942...something definately ary.

Have you tried running that card at default settings or are you still running at Ti4600 speeds? If so, try lower speeds a bit.

Do you have the latest Via 4in1's?....Also check out the KT7 FAQ's...can't find the link to the unnofical one at present...The KT133 chipset can have some incompatibilities...is it definately okay with the Geforce4 Ti range?

There is definately some stupid bottle neck as no matter what game I play on super ugly settings its always 30-40 fps.. on RTCW for eg.

Anyways, as the post says I'm getting pretty stressed out. Going ot go update bios 8)

Oh and btw yes the gfti is running at default speeds.

Thank you so much. Downloading those 4 in 1 drivers helped so much. 3dMark went from 5160 to 6889 @ 305 core and 610 mem. I'm happy with that as I am running a 100mhz fsb athlon with sdram. Also noticed an improvement in bf1942, still a bit worrying though as even when I put everything on really ugly settings doesnt seem to fly... I'll experiment with other games.

Make sure you have your Vsync turned off as well.

I would say that your 3dmark score is pretty close to normal now. You might get it up to 7500 or a bit higher but I wouldn't expect too much more. Try putting the 30.82 nVidia drivers on too if you aren't using them. They're not the latest, but they are stable and pretty fast.
