Over the weekend I installed a 120mm fan on my case sidepanel and I want to put a duct from that directly to my 60mm Alpha HS (sans fan). I'm currently using some chopped-up manilla file folders and tape. I'm in search of a more permanent/better looking solution. Anyone here have any suggestions??

you can get 3" or 4" diameter flexible duct work @ your home improvement store

My idea calls for 7 feet of barbed wire, a small tazer and a rubber chicken...

You could use the aluminium ducts sold for clothes dryers.... its pretty flexible (made of basically layered aliminium foil)... and you can cut it to fit... its normally cylindrical... just be careful of not shortcircuiting everything.... or maybe you should go with something plastic.. :)

<< toilet paper rolls >>

better yet, really big rolls for the industrial sized TP rolls. They are stiif and have at least a 120mm diameter...

Get a circle 5" to 4" fitting run a 4" flexible duct to a 4" circle to 2.5" square adapter/reducer

Amish, like I said above, use a 2 liter soda bottle. Cut off the two ends and then a "V" shaped notch in to funnel down the size.

Amish, there is one thing you should check/watch for when you are reducing the duct. If you reduce the diameter of the duct over too short of a distance you will actually end up with back pressure from the air rolling back off the funnel which will obviously not be the result you are looking for. Just an FYI for you.
But I like the start with a 2 ltr soda bottle idea. Just cut the bottom off and cut the top end off at the diameter you need. Oooh! Bonus to the soda bottle idea, you could even tape/glue some colored streamers inside it and have yourself some built in fan-blow in the wind-thingies :)

What's the best way to "glue" the edges of the bottle back together after they've been v-notched?

Goto Home Depot or you local hardware store and get some epoxy. That sucker ain't going anywhere after that. Of course if you screw up, it means chugging 2 liters of soda to fix your mistake. :)

Just leave it open. That's what I'm doing with my 120mm panaflow and coolermaster HSF (the 120mm spins the 60mm 900RPM faster)

If your 120mm is spinning your 60mm, it's just going to cause airflow disruptions.

I added this 120mm fan on the side panel over my CPU as well as this 120mm fan as a front intake fan. I removed the 60mm fan from my Alpha PAL6035 and ducted to that first 120mm fan. This dropped my CPU temp to 50°C on a Duron 800@1035 1.89v. :D

I would avoid using anything metallic as one person suggested, that could only lead to great unhappiness.

I have a switch to turn off my 120mm fans and 60mm case fans for overnight. I also don't want my CPU to fry when I open the case when it's running. I CAN however run my PC w/ case fans on and CPU fan unplugged. (the temp is 3F higher than CPU fan on and case fan off)

I love high speed panaflow fans!
