The amount of land that's gone to corn production is up markedly due to ethanol production. However, congress is getting some serious backlash for passing the stupid bill that set a minimum number of gallons of ethanol to be produced here at home. The cattle industry, chicken and turkey industries, soda companies, and everyone else who heavily relies on corn is furious about the increased costs of doing business because Congress in their infinite wisdom decided to give all sorts of subsidies to produce corn ethanol. Regardless, there are more corn fields.

However, ducks unlimited should be praised, not booed. Especially because of their efforts, the duck hunting has been as good as it has been during the past several years.

Nope - haven't heard a thing about it, and I feel like I would have. I have friends that work at DU, including the regional waterfowl biologist. I certainly haven't witnessed any of it in any of my recent travels through the state, including much of the main flyway.
