Not sure of that brand, but it seems very basic -- and not much a deal.

There's no side-grill, which would be a deal-breaker for me.

Check this out at costco for not -too- much more money

or this at Target for less money

Not endorsing either of these options, just pointing out that there's more functionality available for around the same money.

edit: also keep in mind that target usually clears these out near the end of summer, if you're not in a hurry for one.

It is a good price but I did some checking and they must be closing out that grill becasue there were a few places that had them for $599 or cheaper.

Ducane went under but weber bought them out, I suspect the sale has something to do with that. I doubt you could show a link to a bunch of places that have it for $599 or cheaper- $473 includes the stainless base, normally $413 alone. It's on "blowout sale" here for $1399. Shipping alone's gotta be costing amazon $100 easy. :Q

I bought that costco grill, and am very happy with it, use it every weekend. it's $379 in the store..the webprice includes shipping cost. I highly recommend it, with costco's impeccable return policy..you can't go wrong. It's made by charbroil btw.

Funny, I've been wanting a nice grill and just today, mentioned it to the wife. After having a new driveway poured this week and putting up a new fence for her today, I looked at her with sad eyes and said.....
"Know what would make this complete? A new grill"
Then, I proceeded to tell her about the Ducane and it's retail price vs. now price. She said.....
"go ahead and get it!!"

WOO-HOOOO!!!


BTW, according to my email receipt from Amazon, it reads that I saved a total of $283.07 including $158.07 in shipping.

Yeah I got that one from costco. Lifetime everything. Has a nice side burner as well.

When you first get a nice spendy stainless... You really don't want to use it. But, now that it looks as bad as our other grill... It does do a good job. I still feel like I got a really good deal.

Dunno about this one. Seems it only has a few knobs so does that mean 2 burners? I'b be a bit freaked out if I was not able to see the grill first unless it was from Webber.

I'm kind of wondering ... Since costco sells grills with lifetime warranty, do you jsut send your greasy grill back to costco when it breaks down and get a new one?

1. Weber bought Ducane. In the grill world Ducane > Weber

2. Two burners but 33,000 BTU. It's fine.

3. That's abusing costco a bit, don't you think?

According to February 2004 issue of SmartMoney magazine, Bobby Flay didn't like the Ducane relative to other gas grills....although he reviewed a different lower end model. But he didn't find anything special about the Ducane.

I'm leaning toward the Costco model but haven't taken the plunge yet

You will not be dissapointed, I had a Ducane stainless grill for 9 years, it was the best. Movers crushed it across country though.

I'm in for the ducane 7200 grill. I looked at the Costco grill and although it's stainless steel, it looked a little cheap to me. Could be because so many people looked at the display model. but the doors were falling off, etc.

I bought this unit at Sams Club for $299. Not exactly the same but close enough to make me think it may be the same mfgr. Free pick up. This baby is heavy though.

Ducane went bankrupt, then it was bought by Weber. The warrantee will be covered by Weber on a prorated basis, but not lifetime. Some of the reviews I have seen show that there were QC problems before the end for Ducane...
Sad, as they were a family owned US maker. Most of the grills you see anymore are made in China... Weber is the exception, and who knows how long they will be able to resist the price pressures?

Coleman, Thermos, Char-Broil, Jenn-air, are all made in China. Great prices, though!

My 17 yo Sunbeam grill is still cooking, but I have rebuilt it about 3 or 4 times and I am ready for a new grill. Some of the reviews say that the parts and fasteners might rust even though the bulk of the grill is stainless. Take a look at them at Lowe's where they have sat out in the rain and you will see what I mean.

The ones I am looking at are the Jenn-air stainless, Weber Genesis Silver, and for the low end, a Coleman. Huge range of prices....

Like some others here, I bought the Costco grill. Unlike some others, I hated it. The heating was uneven (I could only cook on the back part of the grill), it was very susceptible to flameout, the sparker never worked right, and the hardware wasn't stainless, while the rest of the grill was. Even though I used a cover, it was streaked with rust from the hardware. So, I took it back to Costco and got a full refund (gotta love that policy, first time I ever did it in 4 years as a member), then I went to Sears, spent half as much on a grill that I like and cooks well.

Too all of you wanting a high end made in the USA grill, go to your local Gas company (LP,Propane) and take a look. They often times have a show room floor full of $500+ grills that are top notch with lifetime warranties etc...

No shipping + no wait, and sometimes you can talk them down in price, especially this time of year. And if you are a current customer sometimes they offer a percentage off.

That original price of $1743 on this grill is really infalted as well. I have never seen one above $700.
