Hi,

I currently have a Voodoo 5 pci in my pc but i've just gone out and bought a widescreen TV. So i'm thinking of linking them both up to a dualhead card. The first card that came to mind was the Matrox G550. I don't do much gaming but i really need good 2d and Matrox cards are known to have the best 2d. Then just as i was about to buy it the guy offered me a Radeon 7500 for 20 quid more. I know that Radeon 7500 has good 2d and is good in games but what about its dual head features. Are they on the same level as the G550? I have checked some of the reviews but all they seem to include are game benchmarks.

Thanks for any help,

Osmononame.

P.S. How are the drivers for the Radeon? As good as the Voodoo 5?

If you don't need gaming performance then Matrox is definitely the better choice, they have amazing 2D, and the most mature and feature filled dual head implementation available.

If you want to do some gaming on the side however the the Radeon 7500 is certainly an excellent card, it can game, and good 2D, and a very good dual head implementation also.
ATi's HydraVision isnt quite as good Matrox's but they have put a lot of work in it and it's both relaible and has a pretty comprehensive feature set. Probably the best dual monitor implementation available besides that of Matrox's.
