Dualboot by adding an old drive (win ME) to an existing xp installation?

Can I do this without reinstalling xp? I installed XP on my new WD 120GB drive the other night, and being the genius I am, I didn't have my old drive (w/ a winME installation on it) connected when installing xp. NOw I've got the other drive hooked up and running as a slave. I didn't export any of my cookies or favorites out of IE and would like to go about getting these without disconnecting my new drive and just booting straight off of the old drive. Is there a way to add dual boot functionality after the fact?

Yes it is possible but not really easy to pull off. You can use a hardware option to switch drives. I believe it's called the Trio and can be bought from tigerdirect.com. You can use a boot manager like System Commander by V comm. Or you can fool windows into doing it if your up to giving up NTFS and using Fat32 on the hard drive. See Scott Finnie's last newsletter to find out much more detail about pulling this off. http://www.scotsnewsletter.com/25.htm

Good Luck

You can't create a dual boot menu with the way that you have it set up.

You can select which drive to start from in the BIOS though.

If you have both drives plugged in, simply run with the WinXP drive, and copy your cookies and favourites across.

Thanks for the help guys!

Man, I never thought about changing things in the BIOS ... doh! Works like a charm. We'll see how the xp tool for tranferring settings works.
