Dual Xeon 2.8 processors

I have an older rig with dual Xeon 2.8's. I was wondering if this processor config coupled with a newest generation Radeon 3850 would run today's games? Under most system info programs the dual Xeons report as 4 processors. Can someone please explain what this means and if I need to upgrade?

Thanks....

The Xeons probably have hyper threading which makes each CPU look like two cpu's; I'm not sure of the actual technical stuff behind it but I'm assuming they could run two threads at the same time to some extent, so 2x2 = 4. Hyper threading improved performance quite a bit in some cases if I remember correctly..

Those with a 3850 should be able to run everything today fine, not maxed out maybe but everything would be easily playable.
