At our office we have a T1 line that is rated at 1.5/1.5, which is great for the upload, but not so much on the download side of things since the connection is shared amongst 5+ people at any given time with a lot of load on the connection.

Recently the office building said that Comcast might install cable Internet here, which solves the download speed problems but would cause upload nightmares for remote connectivity. Comcast here is also fairly spotty and prone to outages and slumps in performance, which is really unacceptable for an office setting.

If we can combine the two connections using a Dual WAN Router with load balancing, I figure that it will be the best of both worlds. However, I know that the actual process of splitting packets and load balancing is extremely difficult, and I wanted to know if any of the users here had recommendations on Dual WAN Routers that fit the bill with regard to performance issues.

Any suggestions or recommendations? I am not price-sensitive, and I am just looking for the best product that is the most reliable with the fastest performance gains.

I would in all honesty just get a small cisco router for this.

That way you have all the control you would ever need. 2800 series. Plus you'd get VPN and basic firewalling to boot.

I'm a noob when it comes to product suggestions - which one(s) would you suggest?

I read a review on AMDPower about the Xircom TwinWAN Router series here:

The XC-DPG502 seems to be a perfect fit - drastically higher CPU power, RAM, and Throughput ratings, along with QoS settings and outbound load balancing. Inbound load balancing isn't that much of a concern for me.
