Dual vs Double and Lightscribe

Without getting too technical... what is the difference in the Dual Layer and Double layer... other than one is DVD+R and one is DVD-R.... if I am burning movies which is the best? They both seem to hold the same amount of data. When I purchased my burner I made sure to get one with lightscribe because I thought how cool that would be to put a pic on the movie disc instead of just my awful handwriting in a Sharpie.... but I can't find any media that is both DVD DL and Lightscribe.... its either DL at 8.5GB or Lightscribe at 4.7 GB.. Any ideas?

Isn't Dual Layer and Double Layer the same thing? I'm sure Newegg has DL Lightscribe though. i'll check it out

*i guess there isn't one on newegg. apparently they don't even make them yet...

They don't make drives specifically for DL Lightscribe discs. They make drives that are lightscribe capable. They probably haven't released them becuase there isn't a huge market for them and the prices would be even higher then normal DL media which still isn't cheap. Once they are cheaper i am sure you will see them.

I just got a Samsung SE-S164 external (USB 2) DL, Lightscribe burner at Fry's. I have dont regular Lightscribe DVD+R and CDR perfectly. I haven't seen an Lightscribe DL media yet, but I'm sure it will do them if and when they bubble up. So far, I don't need them.

I also have another, the HP-740e, also Lightscribe and DL and USB 2. Both work as advertised.
