i know this has been discussed before, but i cant find it.

i searched for dual, dual users, users, citrix, multiple users, multiple, and a few others. i found nothing, so back off or eat me if you dont want to discuss it again.

that being said, is there a program (i heard citrix is the solution, but i went to their website and didnt see much of anything useful) to allow multiple people to use the computer at once?

thanks...any help/info would be appreciated.

Terminal Server if you don't mind a Windows solution, but you would need to run it on a server box not an XP workstation, and the price of admission is not cheap.

JetWay offers their "MagicTwin" line of motherboards, that support true dual local user configs on XP Pro, given a sufficient number of mouse/keyboard/display/audio devices present in the system. I've actually been interested in something similar, except I require it to be a "free", non-proprietary solution. Somehow, it lies in creating multiple NT "WindowStations", and binding them to the various lower-level devices, so that you can have multiple physical console logins. (XP itself is internally multi-user, with respect to processes and the like.) Supposedly this may be possible with W2K as well.

Given sufficiently-powerful hardware, you can even play mano-a-mano FPS games against each other, on the same machine! That's what I really want that for, or perhaps the ability for me to log into a seperate session on a different console temporarily, without interrupting what I'm doing on the first.

That should work out. Never knew anyone who tried it before though, so I can't suggest it though I hear it's ok.

I think your thinking of WinConnect Server XP from ThinSoft.
