I know this has been circulated for months (years probably) but does anyone have any updated info on this? I would like to run some *nix programs on one as a server and would like dual if possible. Any updated info would be appreciated.

It would be nice. Maybe VIA or ALI will come out with a DDR solution for dual processors before.

We may not have to wait so long after all. Check it out:

--- AMD-760MP: Not So Much Waiting Left [5:14 pm] Rat
A lot of people are waiting for the dual-processor solutions from AMD to come out. Really, relatively low price of AMD Athlon processors together with EV6 bus (which bandwidth isn?t divided between the two CPUs, like in case of GTL+ from Intel) are expected to provide a very favourable price-to-performance ratio. However, as we have heard recently, the first chipset for dual Socket A configurations was rumored to be delayed till the middle of the next year. Luckily, this info didn?t prove true.
According to sources, in late Q1 2001 (in February-March) AMD is going to introduce AMD-760MP core logic consisting of AMD-762 North Bridge supporting 2-way SMP and AMD-766 South Bridge (the same as in AMD-760 chipset). Moreover, the first mainboards based on AMD-760MP are expected to come out in the end of Q1.
The first companies to announce their dual-processor solutions on the upcoming AMD-760MP chipset will be TYAN and Gigabyte.---

Saw it at http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/ today.
