I exchanged emails with a guy from Tyan about a dual Athlon board. Here's what was said:

I was just wondering if you had any plans to manufacture a motherboard using the dual Athlon 760 MP chip set. If so, can you say when you will be releasing it? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your inquiry. Although this chipset is not on our roadmap, I
can assume that you are inquiring about our dual Socket A platform. We
expect to release it in the next month or two.

Your answer leads to another couple questions. Will this dual socket A board support DDR RAM? Also, will it have on-board Ultra 160 SCSI? If you have a spec sheet, I'd love to see it if you're releasing it to the public at this time. I bet you can tell how excited I am about this product. Again, thanks for your promptness.

Although subject to change, I can provide these preliminary
specifications...

Dual PGA462 sockets
DDR memory support, 25 degree angled sockets (rackmount capable)
64-bit PCI slots
AGP Pro slot (for workstation use)
Integrated VGA controller (for server use)
Integrated server management
Integrated dual-channel 10/100BaseT Ethernet
Integrated dual-channel Ultra160 SCSI
and more...

Thought everyone would like this... now wipe the drool off your chins! :)

Yeah... but will it be under $500? Or even $300? It's a big temptation but I'm hoping that by the end of the summer there will be cheaper 760MPs around.

Or even some VIAs, I read somewhere long time ago, they were going to have their own dual cpu chipset as well. Anyone knows for sure?

[sarcarm]Sure, like the Abit KP7.[/sarcasm] I'd rather pay the money for the Tyan and not have to worry about the damn thing being defective or crashing all the time if I was going to run a dual system.
