Work is going to be buying 2 Sharp LC-M3700 LCDs (not 4 like I thought :(). I'm not sure if the resolutions are a special requirement or not. I remember reading ATI cards were best for custom resolutions, but that might just be hearsay. I'm not partial to any brand. 3d performance is a non-issue (ie: no 3d needed) but dual DVI is. I read the thread about dual dvi cards, but I'm unable to find the Radeon VE card referenced. If another card will do the job just as well, point the way!

1366x768 isn't a standard 16:9 resolution... 1360x768 is, however.

Also, anyone got a source for decent DVI-D cables? I'd say 3m would be a minimum.

both ati and nvidia cards can output custom resolutions, nvidia through the forceware drivers, ati through a tool like powerstrip. so either brand should handle that res fine. i'm only 90% sure on this though so wait for someone else to back me up. I think ATi has slightly better dvi support, since most ati cards use the on-chip tdms transmitter. a few of nvidia's do, but most board partners use an addon silicon image chip. therefore, the dvi quality from manufacturer to manufacturer can vary greatly. depending on how long you can wait, the new geforce 6800 series should be out in a month or so. i believe there are also dual dvi radeon 9600 pros out there. newegg should have them.

more to come after i snoop around a bit

Thanks! If you can do custom resolutions with forceware, I may just go with an nvidia based card.

Yup, I saw that link, but I was more concerned with custom resolutions. Ironically, as soon as I want to find a list, it loses its sticky!
