dual screens without hydravision

I bought a radeon 9800 pro at circuit city, to "try out" and i noticed that with hydravision installed, the dual screen setup with analog and digital, streched the windows taskbar from 1 monitor to another. I loved the card, compared to my geforce 4 4200, but that streching just annoyed me. My GF4 doesn't do this, with nview disabled. I returned the video card, but i still want to own it. does anyone know if you can eliminate this problem with the dual screens? Since Hydravision allows for dual monitors, does it really need to be installed? I really miss the ati's power in my games and 3d apps 🙂

thx in advance

Have to check or uncheck the extend my windows desktop onto this monitor. Then you'll have 2 desktops. When you click the identify should show a 1 and 2 on the monitors.

i have a 9800pro, dual monitors and never have installed hydravision.

i actually never heard of it (or didnt remember it) until reading your post. after reading about it i would say dont use it unless you want it and it sounds like you dont.

these cards are great. i upgraded from a 4200 also.
