Dual Screen setup problems.

Hi I am running my HTPC and PC from the same comp with dual display on my PNY 8600GT dual DVI. One DVI is connected to my reciever Onkyo SR-606 and other to my samsung monitor.

If the receiver is already on at computer startup then I can choose to display the dual display as dual screen or clone screen through the nvidia setup. This is what I want.

The problem is if I already have the comp on and then turn on the reciever when I need to watch something (which is what I normally do), I only have the option to select clone screen for the nvidia multiple screen setup. There is no option for dual screen which is what I want.

Any way around this problem. Any help will be appreciated. I already tried Ultramon, but with that I can't choose the monitor setup, can only choose which stuff to put on which screen once its already been setup.

The whole problem is that I don't have that option when I turn on my receiver after windows has already started. My setup only gives me the option to do clone view at that time. There is no option for dual view where I can pick "extend desktop on this display." To get that option I have to have the receiver on before windows starts which is annoying or I have to restart my computer after starting windows.

I am running Windows XP SP3 with the latest nvidia drivers from March 2009. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

I may be wrong but I think if you try to plud a dvi cord in after windows has started it wont fire up the display until windows is restarted. I had that problem recently but i can't remember if it was board specific or not. May have been on my radeon hd3850 but I can't remember if I determined it to be windows or the card.
