Dual SATA USB dock power issues...

I have one of these Vantec dual docks and having wierd problem with power.

If I put in 2 seagate 1tb/1.5tb drives, primary drive spins up, 2nd one seems to have problem spinning up.

So I would power down and take a drive out and remaining drive spins up. I can use a 2.5 and a 3.5 with no problem but having two 3.5, the 2nd drive usually doesn't work.

Anyone have similar issue or recommend something else ? I hope mine is just broken, i'm looking to upgrade to a usb 3 one but dont want to buy another vantec if its a common issue

I actually have a similar one, but it is plugged in via esata. Mine is unable to use both hard drive slots simultaneously. I have read online that this is frequently the case and the result of the esata port on the computer. Perhaps what you're encountering is similar?
