I am wanting to go TV out with either my video card(AIW) or a secondary card, and I need to stay at 1024x768 on my monitor...

What are the different methods of doing this?

It is rumoured that this will be possible with the upcoming 8500's... if so, can someone explain how this is done?

I didn't think any video card supported dual resolution...

Thanks a lot guys...=)

Any ATI card with Hydravision (7500, 8500) can do this easily. Basically the TV out is a clone of the secondary monitor (which in my case is not even physically installed) Therefore, the TV out settings can be set as a seperate desktop to whatever you want. Right now I have my 7500 set up as a home theatre- DIVX system with my monitor at 1024x768 at 85hz while my TV is at 640x480@60 Hz. Since these are seperate desktops, I can watch movies on the TV while still having my regular monitor for whatever else I need. HYDRAVISON RULES!!!! My next step is to find the Reg entries to allow non-standard resolutions so I can run my TV at full DVD 720x480 res without any resizing of the movie!!!!!

The matrox dual head cards let you show different resolutions/refresh rates on the two monitors.
