dual PSU question

In a dual PSU configuration, are there any benefits to connecting the ground from the primary PSU to the ground in the secondary PSU? In my normal configuration, the primary PSU (Seasonic S12 600) is powering the motherboard and video card. The secondary PSU (Seasonic S12 500) is powering all fans, hard drives, and cold cathodes. I've done some searching, but there just isn't very much information on dual PSU configurations.

Would this be to balance the earth over two PSU?s?

I would probably just leave it alone to be fair.

I really don't think it matters.

The HDDs are grounded to the mainboard through thier DATA cables and the board is
grounded to the case at the stand offs. If soft mounted the old IBM DeathStars need the
drives grounded to prevent shocks through the DATA cable...Or so I did read. Ungrounded when suspended they did die easyer.

If a second PSU is just used for 12V, the 5V line and maybe the 3.3 should have a minimum load on it to stabilize the 12V. I just ordered some 2ohm@25W ballasts to do some testing PCP&C, in thier accessories section does offer a resistor for this purpose.
The ballasts are 2 for a buck

The PSUs are grounded through their casing so technically the grounds are tied together through the case.
