What other DC programs are able to take advantage of high end P4's and Dual Processor systems by default?
The one's right off the top of my head are:
Distributed Computing - RC5
United Devices
Secondly, out of the programs (and others you post) listed above, support running as a service or as a hidden application during launch?
Distributed Computing RC5 - Does
United Devices - Does Not
I have several machines running the SETI service which is great. However, for the new 3.2's I just received, only one instance is running using 50% of the processing power. (AFAIK you can't install two instances of the SETI service, can you?)
Last, I don't need the 'end user' messing with the settings or seeing an icon in the icon tray they've never seen before. When they do, they say, "I must have a problem with my computer, becuase I have an icon on my desktop that I haven't seen before." Suddenly the name Nick Burns starts to carry a bit of irony.
Summary - what projects are out there that will run on the fastest processors out there and run hidden?
