Linux supports multiple processors just fine.
Win2k is junk. Recycle those discs.
WinXP supports multiple processors just fine.

I would also recommend xp and a Distributed computing project to help science untill you decide what to use it for, you will see the power the beast possesses that way lol

As seen here :)

Oh boy!? I was stating that I was able to get a pentium 2 to run xp. So, he should have no problem do so on that rig. Besides, at 750mhz, they are more likely to be dual Pentium 3's.

personally i would either go a distro of linux and learn that or win2kpro - personally it is my favorite os and use it on a couple of machines here at home - less overhead and works fine for my needs.

that machine will run good - dual 750s, 1GB of ram - does the m/b support scsi? for some time my wife's machine was a dual 1GHz P3s w/ 512MB ram and a 36GB 10K u320 hdd - very snappy indeed for normal stuff.
