here are the specs of a system we have running:

win nt4 server
ms sql server 2000
dual athlon mp 2000+
2gb RAM
and i believe the mobo is a tyan of some sort.

we are running scsi u160 raid on it and its only purpose is to run sql 2000. my question is, how well does windows NT and sql 2000 take advantage of dual processors? would win 2k3 do a better job of it?

NT4 isn't supported any more, so of course upgrading is recommended no matter what. But I believe MS SQL should handle 2 CPUs fine, it's more than likely designed to scale up to at least 8 CPUs.
