Dual Processor W/ Setti@home

I'm trying to find out if Seti@Home is able to take advantage of using Dual Processors? If so how can I accomplish this?

The easiest way to do it is if you are running SetiDriver, change the Maximum processes box to 2.

Does the setidriver settings for the CLI the same as the windowsxp version?

You'll have to start 2 instances of SETI@Home to make use of the 2 CPU.
I think SETIDriver is able to manage it for you. 🙂
If your using another setup then just be sure to run the 2 instances in two seperate directories.

Yeah, it's not too difficult to set up, but it would certainly be nice if the client were fully SMP compliant the way the Dnet client is for the RC5 project.

start the cmd line clients with your normal settings...

if you were to be using my proxy server and wanted 2 instances of Seti first off you would need 2 dir's...

C:\Seti\CPU1
C:\Seti\CPU2

And the lines to start each of them would be...

C:\Seti\CPU1>setiathome.exe -proxy 217.35.90.232:5517 -cpu 0
C:\Seti\CPU2>setiathome.exe -proxy 217.35.90.232:5517 -cpu 1

My dual AMD MP2000+ gets these kinds of results

If you can't get it working, post again, and I can send you the batch files and setup stuff I used tonight.
I run 4 CPUs under W2K Server, Seti as a service (4 instances).

I'm only running one Seti instance right now, since I'm doing SoB on the other three.

SETIDriver is the much easier option & its gives you a graphical interface for the CLi client too🙂

Caching is good...I chose to run SetiQueue instead, so my other clients get caching as well.

I used setihide on a dually for a while and it was very simple! Just open the program and make sure cli is active on both cpu's and walk away.
