What is the performance difference between a dual processor system and the standard single ones? Would it be the ultimate gaming machine?

My experience with Dual processor systems has been good. They will do nothing in terms of enhancing your foreground single threaded applications (like most games), but what they do is allow for productive background work(play) while not negatively impacting the foreground application.

You'll need Windows2000 or NT4.0 in order to take advantage of dual processors. It's just a waste in Win9x. And, the game or application must be written to take advantage of SMP, otherwise you'll see no difference in performance.
