?dual processor mb & SCSI

I`m thinking about building another computer in a month or so,dual AMD processors.I was wondering what the big difference between SCSI and IDE is.I know SCSI is suspose to be a little faster,and it`s more expensive.Any info on the best setup would be helpful.I`m just building it for my personal computer.Thanks
