Hi,
I hope someone can help me, and I apologise in advance for my ignorance. I'm usually fairly technically competent, I use Linux & stuff, but I haven't built a PC for a couple of years, not since I put together my current PIII 500.
I've been given a pair of 1200 MHz Durons, however, and since they seem identical and from the same batch, this would seem to be a good opportunity to build a dual-processor machine. Can anyone tell me if this is possible..? Can anyone recommend a suitable motherboard..?
I'm assuming that if it is, I'll maybe need to break a couple of the contacts, or use silver paint to make a new one or something. If that's the case any details or a link about this would be much appreciated.
Some more about these processors: they're each marked in the centre with "DHD1200AMT1B" - according to this page that indicates that:
DHD = Duron
1200 = mhz
A = CPGA package
M = 1.75v
T = 90c max operating temp
1 = 64kb L2 cache
B = 200Mhz FSB
I've also put a photo of one the processors here in case that helps anyone identify them.
Many thanks in advance for any replies or comments,
Stroller.
