I wanted to get a Dual ATHLON XP/MP system and i am torn between the TigerMP(x) and the ASUSA7V26-E. Can either of these boards function with just one chip installed at first, so that i can add my second on later? If so, do you take any hits with performance or stability. Also if you anyone has a similiar setup please let me know how you like it.

Thanks

I think you meant the 266-D... the 266-E is not a dual processor mobo. In any case, I believe you can use them with just one processor, but it probably isn't as good as using a non-SMP mobo with a single dedicated processor. Don't think you'll get any responses from people with the 266-D board since it's not out yet :)
