Dual port NIC?

I would imagine it would work in Win 10, and you really can't go wrong with Intel networking equipment. What application do you have in mind for it?

Any Intel NIC is going to be fine in 10. I've got a bunch of quad ports, I don't know if they are knock offs but they work perfectly so I honestly don't care if they are as they were like $70/ea.

Can anyone recommend a decent dual port NIC? I see this Intel one on amazon for cheap but then everywhere else the card is considerably more so not sure if it's a knockoff.

Ohh and has to work with Win 10 Pro.

I've bought two of the linked card and have them in my server - they are Intel models, just a little older. They work fine - I use them with Hyper V and I believe one of them may run one of my Sophos interfaces.

At that price I'd be weary, it may be a fake. Lot of fake stuff on Amazon/Ebay.

intel is pretty much one of the better brands when it comes to multi port server nics.

My only concern now though would be that spy tech they have in their CPUs, I can't help but wonder if that's in their NIC's too, it would kinda make sense... it would basically be able to sniff your traffic on demand etc... Either use network or 3G to communicate with their servers. This is just a speculation though, not sure if NIC matters for that tech to work or not as it's built into most newer CPUs.

It either works or it doesn't. If it doesn't, return it as faulty. Done. Nobody in their right mind is going to pay 5x the price just to make sure it's not fake. I'm not going to bother responding to the tinfoil hat bit as that has no reason to even be in this thread. I've got 4 quads currently is use that were all Amazon or eBay surplus stuff. Not a single issue with any of them. I've had another dozen go through my hands, none of them had issues either.

I bought two of those cards for less than the current price. They're legit Intel cards but are older models.

Oh true, they could be server pulls as well, did not think of that.

You just want to watch not to end up with say, a 10/100 card or something and they list it as gigabit.

I noticed that Windows 10 does NOT have out-of-box drivers for the Intel I219V gigabit NIC (found on ASRock mobos). Also, when upgrading from Win7 to Win10, the same Win7 NIC drivers do NOT work in Win10. Have to un-install the (identically-named) driver package, and install the Win10 version. A bit of a hassle.

Just pointing out that Win10 does NOT have out-of-the-box support for Intel (many? all? just some?) NICs. Nor will it automagically go online and find the drivers, if you are using wifi to get online, and trying to get your wired NIC to work.

The NIC came out in Q2 of last year - probably too late to get drivers included by MS.

Motherboards that include the I219V would presumably include a driver CD.

I219V is not the same as a PRO1000 for which Windows has had integrated drives back to, I want to say XP.

Ended up ordering the quad port 1000PT from amtech at amazon. No brainer at $40. Should be here Fri so will see how 2012 R2 handles it.
