Hey everyone,

I am looking to upgrade a server to a dual pentium. I've been looking for good reviews of dual boards but can't seem to find any.

Anyone got some recommendations on a MB to get? Preferably 775 with DDR or DDR2.

Also, anyone know of some good places (good prices) for combo deals? MB, CPU and memory. Or even if someone has a combo to sell.

Thanks!

Yes, the Xeon processor is the only Intel CPU made to work in a physical multi-processor setup. There is no such thing as a dual socket 775 board - only dual socket 603/604 which is the Xeon line.

There are quite a few boards that support DDR and DDR2, but they top out at 400

Makers include Supermicro, Iwill, Intel, Asus, Gigabyte, Tyan, and MSI.

The link below should send you to all the dual Xeon boards at Newegg. That should be a start. I know that Newegg doesn't have everything out there, but they have at least most of what's available from the biggest manufacturers.

BTW, a lot of those in the link include on-board graphics, so watch for that whether you do or don't need it.

Currently.. I believe the latest boards, that are top of the line have the 975 chipset.. previously it was the 955 chipset..
on the lower end, its the 945P chipset..
all of these support DDR2 and dual core
