There is no reason why they should be, though.

Sure there is. They work in Dual processors and use a totaly different socket. The require more expensive workstation/server boards and forget any options for overclocking. Plus intel makes some bank off of it.

That statement is conditional; if you are refering to the 512k Xeon, then you're correct, however they do equip some of the Xeon's with 1mb, 2mb, or even 4mb cache, making them more desirable for corporate file servers and such, and also a great deal more expensive.

Also, the Northwood P4 (the .13u one) is said to be SMP enabled as well. The cost, however, will likely be a barrier.

I wasn't aware of any Xeons that had L2 caches larger than 256KB. There are Pentium III Xeons with larger L2 caches, however.
