Dual P3-1000, yet only 2.69 Mkeys/s

Something is wrong. I have a Dual P3-1000 mhz system running Windows 2k, and I'm only getting 2.69 Mkeys/s even though the system sees both chips.

Can someone offer me some assistance? A friend's Dual P3-700mhz gets about 3.86 Mkeys/s, which correctly reflects the SMP system.

EDIT: I should add that 2.69Mkey/s is what I got on a single cpu. And this:

[Oct 30 06:13:36 UTC] Automatic processor detection found 2 processors.
[Oct 30 06:13:36 UTC] Loading crunchers with work...
[Oct 30 06:13:36 UTC] Automatic processor type detection found
an Intel Pentium III processor.
[Oct 30 06:13:36 UTC] RC5: using core #2 (RG class 6).

What's that "using core #2" thing? It can't be using only one CPU because both CPUs are shown at 100% in Win2K's task manager.

How long have you let it run? It will show you the total for one CPU first, than for both. The total for both will start out lower than it should be, than build.

I'm envious of you people! 😀

3.86MKeys/s is like my Duron @ 1070Mhz. Russ, when the AMD dual processor boards come out, do you plan to build one? It'll rock!

Russ, it's only been running for about an hour. How long should it take before showing the results of both chips?

Lore if you are looking at the screen console, it will show 2.69 or whatever but that is for each CPU, your total output should be
twice that if you look in the logs at the blocks completed

your friend must have a newer client? my duals show the same as yours
but the output is twice that..

not that it is that important but both of my 950s are a little higher
than 2.69.. but they dont do anything but crack.. this one is strickly
a web browser/email computer and it has averaged 2.74 since rebooting
Friday, but I imagine your computer is doing something besides RC5

Interesting; my friend's computer is using the same build as me, so I don't know why it's showing 3.86 and I'm only showing 2.69. I'm kinda sad 🙁

The client will show the total Mkeys/sec that are done.
If you start dualies with two different size packets, the first one done will show up.
If the first CPU then receives another smaller packet to do, and finishes that one also before the other CPU is done with it's first one, it'll still just show the first CPU's Mkeys/sec.

It won't show the total Mkeys/sec for both CPUs until both CPUs have finished at least one packet each.

You're just to impatient 😀
